Assists the lead teacher in managing a group of children and may assume full classroom responsibility in the teacher's absence. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, implementing curriculum, and communicating with parents.
Requires a High School Diploma, GED, or Associate degree, with a preference for CDA or enrollment in a degree program. Candidates should have experience with Head Start philosophy and the ability to work with culturally diverse families.
As part of the education team, under the general direction of the Education Coordinator, with support from the Teacher, assists a given group of children. May be responsible for conducting circle, doing lesson plan and generally assuming the teacher’s responsibility in the teacher’s absence.
