Required Education High School Diploma or GED equivalentMust pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment with a minimum score of 250 within 1 year from Date of HireCertification/Licensure Must be able to obtain Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate within 1 year from Date of Hire;Must complete the RBT certification requirementsExperience Qualifications 0-2 years of experience required; 3-5 years of experience preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Classroom experience and/or proven ability to work with children preferred Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems Must be able to follow written and oral instructions quickly and accurately Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with students and adults Excellent organizational skills and flexibility Technology proficiency (computers, AV, office equipment, etc.) Working Conditions Classroom environment and/or home settings Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds May require lifting, bending kneeling, reaching, stooping or crouching Requires ability to move and control an adult-sized wheelchair Typically sitting, standing, walking Ability to physically manage student behavior, if necessary, using approved physical management techniques
