- Responsibilities: Monitoring and enforcing all aquatics facility policies, rules, and regulations.
Instruction
Deliver engaging, high-quality American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED courses.
Assessment
Evaluate participant performance, provide constructive feedback and uphold Red Cross passing standards.
Administration
Register students, maintain accurate, up-to-date, secure and confidential records for all classes.
Preparation
Set up and clean up training material, equipment and facilities for both land and water sessions.
Compliance
Maintain current Red Cross instructor credentials, including in-person renewal requirements. Perform routine inspections of the pool area and report any unsafe conditions or equipment needs. Regular attendance as scheduled. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be 17 years old or older. In-depth knowledge of Lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques. In-depth knowledge of Lifeguard Instruction and teaching techniques. Strong communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to teaching. Demonstration of leadership skills. Current certifications in the following areas: American Red Cross Lifeguarding American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods of time Quickly react by running, jumping, and swimming Potential to lift and carry individuals from water Perform CPR Maintaining high level of alertness and focus Work Schedule: Seasonal positions available. Lifeguard Courses are taught on the weekends (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). Qualifications
