Job Description

Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with job related contacts. The Early Childhood Specialist assists in the coordination and implementation of grant projects, service agreements, and contracts to help assure success in the community and at the medical centers. Conducts presentations, and educational consultations. Coordinates specific course logistics and objectives pertinent to subject matter. Responsible to maintain consistent and quality improvement processes centered around state regulation requirements. The educator is specialized in their designated topic and age group and all aspects around child development and safety. Knowledge of and use of appropriate age-related protocols relating to developmental, health and safety needs of children. Must be able to work with growing needs of unique populations served. Must possess observations skills to properly assess family and individual needs. Provides monitoring capability to ensure compliance within each assigned program in order to accurately report up to federal government for quality enhancements, data collection and reporting and maintaining compliance. Work hours vary according to department and client needs. Some evenings and/or weekend work hours required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Field of study preference in early childhood education, child development, family relations. preferred. In lieu of degree, leadership may consider six years equivalent work experience. One year of experience collaborating with adults on the development, health and safety needs of children. May require certification/licensure as required by profession and program specification.
