The Health Technician provides medical support to students and staff, including administering first aid and medication. They are responsible for maintaining health records, conducting screenings, and coordinating with health departments.
Candidates must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LPTN) with at least 2 years of experience and current CPR/First Aid certification. Certification in scoliosis, hearing, vision, and growth screening is also required.

The Health Technician provides health support to all employees and students. They provide support in addressing the health needs of students, assist in the implementation of the school health program, and provide appropriate care and/or referral for ill, medically fragile and/or injured students. They also administer first aid and medication to students according to district policy and procedures. Essential
Provides professional expertise in the fields of Nursing and School Health Acts as a liaison between the schools and outside groups. Fosters relationships with the Arkansas Department of Health and non-profit organizations that provide services to the schools or assist the schools with training and other initiatives Research local laws and practices for possible implementation in AR schools Conduct quarterly health office site audits Analyze trends in audit outcomes to strategize additional training Notify student's guardian of visits to the Health Office. Offer care for student injuries. Create an Arkansas Health Record for each student. Record immunizations, vision, and hearing test results. Maintain all prescription and non-prescription medication with proper security measures. Maintain a clean and sanitized office. Maintain and rotate supplies. Complete weekly accident and health office visit reports for Administrators. Attend monthly staff meetings. Conduct hearing and vision screening. Complete and send immunization and hearing reports to the state. Performs other related duties as required by supervisor Competencies, Skills, and Abilities: Positively interact with all students. Be detailed, organized and timely in completion of work Qualifications: License Practical Nursing (LPN)/ Licensed Practical Technical Nursing (LPTN) License 2 years licensed nursing experience (3 years preferred as well as experience in schools preferred) Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for healthcare providers with AED and First Aid Current certification in Scoliosis, Hearing, Vision and Growth (height and weight) screening Must be able to pass a background check in the state of Arkansas Must possess strong communication, organizational, analytical, and written skills Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Join us to enjoy rewarding challenges and ongoing opportunities!
