Instruct swimming lessons using provided plans while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude. Relate effectively with staff, parents, and program participants to ensure a safe learning environment.
Proficient swimming and safety/rescue skills are required, with previous teaching or competitive experience preferred. Candidates must obtain Blood Borne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire.
Swim Instructors are enthusiastic and portray a positive attitude. Relate positively to a variety of people including other staff, parents, and program participants. Instructors must be organized, and eager to teach (lesson plans provided). Other duties as assigned. Experience teaching swim lessons or previous competitive swimming experience is not necessary but preferred. Proficient swimming and safety/rescue skills. Professional, alert, courteous, and tactful. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
