Provide direct support and instruction to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting to promote independence and daily living skills. Ensure a safe home environment while facilitating community involvement and monitoring progress toward individualized goals.
Preferred high school diploma and one year of experience in a residential setting for individuals with disabilities. Must possess a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and various certifications including CPR, First Aid, and CPI.
Job Status: Full time; Rotating SCHEDULE: Mon-Tues (5:00am-9am), Wed-Thurs (2pm-10pm), Sat (8am-4pm)
Provide direct support, instruction, and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This role focuses on promoting independence, teaching daily living skills, and ensuring a safe, supportive home environment while encouraging community involvement and personal growth.
· Maintain a pleasant, safe, and supportive home environment for residents · Provide instruction in daily living skills including personal care, social skills, money management, and household tasks · Support residents in achieving individualized goals outlined in ISP and Person-Centered Plans · Assist in the development and implementation of service plans (as applicable) · Monitor and document resident progress toward goals · Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all residents · Participate in recreational, leisure, and community activities with residents · Encourage community involvement and development of meaningful relationships · Promote independence, personal choice, and individual rights · Complete assigned household management tasks and maintain checklists · Maintain accurate documentation and comply with agency standards · Attend required meetings and training sessions · Maintain confidentiality of all resident and employee information · Assist with shift coverage as needed (when applicable)
& Skills: · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Ability to teach, guide, and reinforce positive behaviors · Ability to build professional and respectful relationships · Strong organizational and documentation skills · Ability to work independently and as part of a team · Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
· Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more · Ability to assist residents with physical support and daily living tasks · Ability to remain active throughout shift, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting · Ability to maintain a safe and structured environment
· Adult CPR and First Aid certification · Preventing Disease Transmission certification · Core A & B Medication Training · CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) certification · Valid driver’s license required · Proof of vehicle liability insurance required · Reliable transportation required for travel, training, and resident support
