Provides technical and clerical support to lead teachers working with students with disabilities to ensure quality instruction. Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, adapting instructional materials, and assisting with daily student care and classroom maintenance.
An Associate's degree in any field is required, with a preference for education or early childhood development. Candidates must be able to perform clerical tasks and have the physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Under general supervision, provides a variety of technical and clerical tasks in assisting a teacher of students with disabilities. The assistant may perform a wide range of tasks in order to support the efforts of the lead teacher, meet the needs of all students, and ensure the provision of quality instruction for all students.
The position of Exceptional Education Teacher Assistant reports to the assigned Exceptional Education Teacher. This position is a 10-month position that follows the school academic calendar.
The Exceptional Education Teacher Assistant will have the following experience and attributes: An Associate’s degree in any field is required; focus in education, early childhood development, and experience with children with disabilities desired. Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment. Ability to perform clerical duties. Ability to operate common office machines. Ability to maintain basic files and records. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignments. Physical ability to lift/carry 20 lbs and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
