The Registered Nurse provides medical care and nursing services to students with special needs aged 3-8. Responsibilities include developing emergency care plans, conducting health screenings, and implementing interdisciplinary IEP goals.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License. Experience working with children with special health care needs is required.
BSN Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing Valid PA Registered Nurse License Working knowledge and experience working with children with special health care needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-Registered Nurse 1. Develop and implement health care and emergency care plans specific to individual student needs. Train staff as needed on procedures for implementation of both health care and emergency care plans. 2. Handle routine and emergency care for children enrolled in the school program. 3. Conduct health screenings (heights, weights) in accordance with PA state requirements. 4. Implement interdisciplinary aspects of students’ current Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which includes, but is not limited to, the following: communication systems, feeding approaches, mobility recommendations, sensory diets, and behavioral interventions. 5. Track and maintain immunization records and medical files. Report to the appropriate county health departments and the Department of Education. BENEFITS Work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 7-hour days. Working 35 hours per week, with a typical school calendar of 9.5 months per year!
