Maintain simulation labs in a clean and functional state by setting up equipment and managing inventory. Provide technical guidance to students on the use of lab supplies while adhering to safety protocols.
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma and currently enrolled in a CSN nursing program (NA, PN, or ADN). Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 10-15 lbs and standing for several hours is required.
The Nursing Department has openings for Student Workers to support the simulation labs. Reporting directly to the Simulation Lab Manager and/or Program Director, the Student-Worker will receive training to perform assigned tasks under supervision to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all duties. The primary focus of this role is to maintain the simulation settings and lab rooms in a clean, organized, and functional state to facilitate a professional learning environment. Non-Instructional Role Clarification - The position of Lab Assistant is NOT a teaching, educational, or instructional role. In compliance with the Nevada State Board of Nursing an instructor must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing to teach. The Student-Worker is prohibited from teaching or lecturing to students. While Student-Workers may provide assistance and answer student questions regarding the physical use of lab equipment and supplies during open labs, they are not permitted to provide clinical instruction or evaluate student performance. Operational Support: Assist with the set-up and breakdown of lab carts, simulation settings, and equipment for scheduled sessions and labs. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all lab equipment is in proper working order and perform routine cleaning of equipment and lab rooms. Inventory Management: Assist with stocking, organizing, and tracking lab equipment and supplies to prevent operational delays. Lab Assistance: Participate in open labs and provide technical guidance to students on the correct use of lab equipment and supplies. Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to OSHA Guidelines and all established lab safety and security protocols.
Ability to lift at least 10–15 lbs.
High School Diploma or equivalent and 18 years of age or older. Basic computer skills and the ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and some weekends.
