The NNP student will complete required coursework in an accredited program and undergo clinical training under a licensed NNP. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive care plans, performing physical exams, and providing healthcare services to neonatal patients.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, be pursuing an advanced degree, and possess 1-2 years of level 3 neonatal nursing experience. A valid RN license for Kansas and/or Missouri and required life support certifications are mandatory.
• NNP student will successfully complete required coursework toward NNP degree through accredited NNP program. Will maintain ongoing contact with NNP managers as needed during this time. - Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal patient outcomes. Under direct supervision of a licensed NNP, the student provides comprehensive health care services to a defined patient population; obtains health history; performs physical examination; formulates a plan of care; performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; participates in patient/family education. - Meets the educational needs of patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching/learning.
