Lead engaging and developmentally appropriate fitness and wellness programs for toddlers aged 2-4 and their families. Facilitate music and movement-based activities while promoting YMCA values and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
Candidates should have experience leading fitness or youth programs and possess strong interpersonal skills. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
Overview The Music & Movement Instructor is responsible for leading engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate fitness and wellness programs designed for toddlers ages 2-4 years. This role fosters a welcoming environment where families can participate inactivities that promote health, bonding, and overall well-being. Programs may include family-friendly workouts, active play sessions, and wellness education.
Plan and facilitate family-focused fitness and wellness programs, ensuring they are engaging, safe, and appropriate for toddlers ages 2-4. Provide instruction for a variety of activities,music and movement-based games, and wellness education. Encourage and support family participation. Arrive on time and prepared to motivate and encourage participants, creating a high-energy and positive experience. Follow all YMCA policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Promote YMCA values and build positive relationships with families to enhance retention and engagement Assist in promoting programs through social media, flyers, and direct member engagement. Maintain equipment and program spaces to ensure cleanliness and organization. Stay informed on best practices in family fitness and incorporate new trends into programming. Perform other duties as assigned Work Environment and Physical Demands: Ability to lead physical activities, including demonstrating exercises and engaging in active play. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move equipment as needed. May require evening or weekend availability depending on program schedules.
Experience leading fitness classes, youth programs, or family activities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage families of all backgrounds. CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire). Passion for health, wellness, and creating a supportive family environment.
