Provide direct primary and acute care to adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department. Perform assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and order diagnostic tests under faculty supervision.
Must hold a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited PA or NP program and a valid Minnesota license. Required certifications include NCCPA for PAs and ACLS.
Provide direct primary and acute care services to adult and pediatric patients as part of the care team in the Emergency Department Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patients' medical, physical and psychosocial status while in the Emergency Department Obtain and evaluate health and medical history; perform physical exams, identify medical and psychosocial health risk Complete accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, plan of care, referrals and follow-up Formulate appropriate differential diagnoses based on history and physical examination Identify needs of the individual, family or community and develop a plan of care and/or education plan Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic tests to include point of care ultrasound, therapeutic treatments, and procedures; may prescribe, administer and dispense therapeutic devices, durable medical equipment, and medications Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies Contribute to ongoing medical and nursing teaching programs
Degree from a master’s-level PA program accredited by ARC-PA, or a master’s or doctoral-level accredited NP program License/Certifications Valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota National PA certification issued by the NCCPA ACLS
