ACT Vocational Specialist

Position Title

ACT Vocational Specialist Department: Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Reports To: ACT Team Lead and Director of Behavioral Health Services

Position Summary

The ACT Vocational Specialist is a member of the multidisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team and is responsible for assisting individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment, educational opportunities, and meaningful vocational activities.

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist individuals in identifying vocational interests, strengths, skills, and career goals.
• Conduct vocational assessments and employment planning.
• Provide individualized supported employment services.
• Assist with job searches, applications, resumes, and interview preparation.
• Develop relationships with local employers and community businesses.
• Support individuals in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment.
• Assist individuals in accessing educational and vocational training programs.
• Deliver services in homes, workplaces, schools, and community settings.
• Collaborate with ACT team members to integrate vocational goals into treatment planning.
• Complete assessments, progress notes, and employment documentation within required timeframes.
• Maintain compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, HIPAA, Human Rights, and TMACT standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation, Education, or related field preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, vocational rehabilitation, or workforce development preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) preferred.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License required.
