This position would start in August at the beginning of the 26-27 school year. This position is 10 months in a year, furloughed during Spring Break week, summer break, Thanksgiving break, and Christmas break. Furloughed employees are able and encouraged to draw unemployment during these times.

- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment and provide for children’s feeling of security away from home.
- Conduct ongoing assessments on each child to monitor pre-reading, pre-math and language skills needed prior to entering kindergarten for successful transition into the public-school system.
- Assists parents to benefit and reinforce their work as primary educator of their children, including Home Task Assignments.
- Two home visits required per school year.
- Work closely with Center Assistants to ensure tasks are completed per ECLKC.
- Work closely with Family Support Workers to ensure family needs are met.
- Work closely with Health and Special Services Coordinators to ensure children are screened, needs identified and met, if applicable.
- Work closely with Nutrition Specialists & Coordinators to ensure healthy practices.
- Work with Coordinators to ensure In-Kind requirements are met.
- Mandated reporter of suspected cases of Child Abuse and Neglect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- We expect qualified candidates to have an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, experience in a teaching environment, with low-income families.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as basic knowledge of computer operation and software.
- They must have an active and unhindered Driver’s License with personal reliable transportation.
- Successfully pass Criminal Background including FBI fingerprint and Child Maltreatment checks.
