  • Overview: The Patient Educator II will serve as the point person to connect all eligible patients to doulas as part of a doula navigation pilot. They will provide education to clinicians, care team members and patients to ensure an understanding of the doula’s role as well as how to request and retain the services of a doula from the prenatal to postpartum period. The Patient Educator II will also establish relationships with doulas and doula communities and serve as a liaison with the care tea. The ideal individual would be a trained doula that has existing relationships with doula communities. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated ability to connect with patients, providers and community partners. While this person will interface directly with patients, they will engage with pilot partners in efforts to identify successes of the pilot and opportunities to improve. While not required, it would be preferred to have an individual who is a trained doula but also has experience serving in healthcare settings as a care team member (e.g. Medical Assistant, nursing aid, EMT etc.). The ideal candidate will also have experience and/or demonstrated comfortability with maintaining data documentation via systems such as Microsoft Excel, electronic health records, Redcap, etc.
