  • Summary: The 1st – 2nd Grade Soccer Coach is responsible for leading an 8-week clinic series, focused on individual skill development and fostering a love of the sport, catering to players of a wide range of experience and skill level. This role supports the athletic and personal development of student-athletes by promoting teamwork, skill-building, and sportsmanship in a positive and inclusive environment. The position collaborates closely with the Athletics and After-School department to align with school values and ensure a safe, engaging experience for all participants.

  • Responsibilities: Plans and leads all Soccer practices 1st – 2nd grade students teaching age-appropriate soccer fundamentals, techniques, and strategies. Coaches all scheduled practices Promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual skill development, and supports player growth aligned with program expectations and core competencies. Ensures the safety, supervision, and well-being of all student-athletes. Communicates clearly with players, families, and the school community about schedules, expectations, and team progress. Partners with the Director of Athletics and After-School Programs to support program goals and team culture. Manages equipment, as well as oversees set up and cleanup for practices and games. Upholds and models the mission, values, and strategic priorities of STS. Demonstrates respect for diverse perspectives and a commitment to equity and inclusion. Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion. Adheres to school policies and procedures and performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and After-School Programs.
  • QualificationsRequirements and
  • Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in education, coaching, or a related field preferred. 1+ years of experience coaching soccer, or equivalent playing experience, preferably with Elementary –age students. Knowledge of youth athletic development, including age-appropriate skill building and sportsmanship. Demonstrated ability to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment. Ability to actively supervise student-athletes both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions. Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds and engaging in activities such as bending, crouching, or sitting on the ground. Readiness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification, and maintain throughout employment Successful completion of required background checks in accordance with school policy and state regulations. Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work with diverse individuals and groups. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, flexible, and growth-oriented mindset.
