Job description

We are looking for dynamic individuals to lead and early learning UPK program at the Learning Village Early Learning Center in Guilderland. This early learning childcare position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening our community. These roles help to create a positive learning environment, nurture relationships, and support the potential of all children at site as part of the overall daycare experience.

CERTIFIED UPK TEACHER - $25/hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • NYS Teaching Certificate (Birth - 2nd Grade)
  • One (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity required.
  • AAS in Child Development, Elementary Ed., Physical Ed., Recreation or related field with no prior experience
  • OR Child Development Associate Credential WITH one (1) year prior experience
  • OR 9 college credits in Child Development, Elementary Ed., Physical Ed., Recreation or related field WITH two (2) years direct experience working with children under the age of 13.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Day 1 of
  • Employment: Completed Physical and TB Test (within the last year)
  • Day 30 of
  • Employment: Completed CPR, AED, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention
  • Day 90 of
  • Employment: Completed New Employee Orientation, Sexual Harassment, NYS OCFS Health & Safety and ALICE (Active Shooter).
  • Day 180 of
  • Employment: Completed 15 hours of childcare related training (then 15 hours annually)

Work schedule

  • Monday -
  • Friday: 8 hours shifts between 7:30am - 5:30pm
  • Full Time at 8 hours daily/40 hours per week
