What You’ll Do as an Autism Special Education Teacher
You’ll make a lasting difference every single day by
- Design and deliver highly structured, individualized instruction tailored to each student’s needs
- Implement and monitor IEP goals focused on communication, social interaction, behavior, and daily living skills
- Use evidence-based practices such as visual supports, task analysis, prompting strategies, and reinforcement systems
- Support students with complex sensory, behavioral, and communication needs, including nonverbal learners
- Collect and analyze student data to guide instruction and measure progress
- Develop and implement behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with related service providers
- Create predictable routines and structured environments that promote student success
- Lead, coach, and collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure consistency and effectiveness in the classroom
- Partner with families and multidisciplinary teams to support each student holistically

Schedule Monday–Friday | 8: 15 AM–3:15 PM Includes a 6-week Extended School Year program (built into salary)
Salary $69,754.89–$92,718 (based on experience and education) $2,500 sign-on bonus
