Description The Arc Madison Cortland is looking for Relief (Per Diem) Direct Support Professional Staff for ourHourly Respite and Family Support Services Program! *Evenings and Weekend Shifts*

Hiring Rate

  • $18.23
  • SUMMARY: Hourly Respite and Family Support Services provide a variety of services directed at the caregiver to enhance a family’s capacity to continue caring for a family member with developmental disabilities living at home through in-home, site based and community services. NYSARC Recreation services is open to any person receiving services from the agency. Assist individuals with supports and services to participate in respite and recreation activities of choice that include opportunities for socialization and integration. Services may be provided after work, day program, or school, evening and/or weekends.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provides individualized care as outlined in the individual’s Life Plan or IPOP.
  • Assists individuals in activities of daily living (toileting and feeding), as outlined in the individual’s Life Plan to promote independence.
  • Participates with the individual during the scheduled respite/ activity.
  • Provides choices to maximize participation in a respite/activity.
  • Attends all established or assigned meetings and trainings.
  • Provides First Aid, CPR, within program specific regulations.
  • Participates positively and professionally with colleagues as a team member.
  • Provides safe transport of individuals.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; Valid NYS driver's license and maintain a driving record in accordance with our Liability/Automotive Insurance carrier; Six months to one year related experience and or training preferred.
