Job description

Title: Montessori Children’s House Afternoon Assistant (3-6 years old)

Position Begins: August 20, 2026

Status

Part-time (11:30
AM to 5:30 PM) Monday-Friday

Hourly Rate: $22-24 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

FLSA Category: Non-Exempt

School Overview

Lake Country School (LCS) is a leader in understanding and supporting young people as they grow and develop. At LCS, young people learn broadly and deeply about history, the earth, themselves, and living in a human community that is interconnected with the natural world.

We are looking for candidates who love to be with young children, who would joyfully support 3-to 4-year-old children during the afternoon program (12-4:00 PM), and 3-6 year-old children in the after-school program (4:00-5:30 PM), called Extended Day. This individual will assist in preparing the environment and implementing a Montessori approach to the program. A successful candidate will work well with a team and have a strong desire to learn more about Montessori education.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has

1-3 years of experience with 3 to 6-year-olds
Associate's degree or higher
Experience with Montessori education, either as a student or staff member

AND/OR
Any additional or equivalent qualifications to be considered
