With unwavering dedication, we have nurtured and strengthened families, evolving our programs to meet the ever-changing needs of those we serve. Our mission is to provide children and youth in Arizona a safe environment, free from abuse and neglect by creating strong and successful families. Our Early Head Start programs are ready to hire Teacher II’s to join the team in our Early Education Services Department. We are looking for compassionate, energetic, and dependable individuals that are committed to build a classroom of learning for children receiving services. In this role, you will spend most of your time providing a fun, positive, safe and secure classroom environment for twenty children as well supervising and supporting your teacher I. Play will guide your day as you create an energetic classroom filled with activities that meet the needs of children’s interests and differing skills. You will encourage responsibility, independence, and problem solving through positive guidance methods. You will lead classroom planning, family home visits, child screenings and assessments with your Teacher I’s support. Meal times are a regular routine that allows you to help facilitate a variety of self-help skills while ensuring accurate documentation of the CACFP meal program.
  • QualificationsTo be considered you must have: Associates, Bachelor or Master Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 credit hours in child development coursework. Must be at least 18 years of age A Level One fingerprint clearance card or the ability to obtain one prior to starting A valid Arizona Driver’s License and pass an Agency driver’s test A clean driving record for past 5 years
  • You are a star candidate if you have the above, and: At least 6 months of experience in direct service delivery to children ages 3-5, preferred. Demonstrate center’s expectations for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness. Speak with children in a friendly, positive, courteous manner while listening to children with attention and respect to create a positive learning environment where routines are established through trust. Excellent organization, time management, written / verbal communication skills and computer proficiency Spanish/English bilingual capabilities preferred CPR & First Aid Food Handlers Card Dedicated to contributing to a culture of kindness with children in care
