Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St.
Louis.Job Summary The After School Care Assistant supports the mission and values of the Catholic school by providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for students during after-school hours.
This position supervises school-aged children, assists with organized activities, and promotes positive behavior while ensuring the well-being of all students in care.Job Responsibilities Supervise students during after-school care, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety at all times.
Foster a welcoming, respectful, and positive environment that reflects Catholic values and promotes the dignity of every child.
Plan, lead, and assist with age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
Monitor student behavior and encourage cooperation, kindness, and responsible decision-making.
Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment in accordance with school policies and procedures.
Attend to student needs and respond appropriately to minor incidents or emergencies.
Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, faculty, and school administration.
Assist with student check-in and check-out procedures and maintain accurate attendance records.
Support school policies and uphold confidentiality regarding students and families.
Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
Experience working with school-aged children in a childcare, educational, or recreational setting preferred.
Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in supporting children’s growth and development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to supervise children in a variety of settings and activities.
Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
