The assistant provides speech and language services to students, focusing on articulation, vocalization, and social pragmatics. They collaborate with teachers and IEP teams to implement therapy plans and track student progress.
Candidates must have an AA degree, completion of a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant program, and state registration in California. One year of experience working with special needs students in an educational setting is preferred.
Starting Pay Range $25.00 - $30.00 - Hourly Depending on experience
Required: Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles Ability and willingness to implement students’ IEP’s Effective record keeping and procedures Speech, language, hearing development, disorders and rehabilitation Articulation disorders and rehabilitation. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with general education and special education colleagues, parents and community. Special education experience.
