The leader is responsible for refereeing soccer games and teaching fundamentals to children ages 5 and up. They also manage program setup, ensure participant safety, and support various branch events and sports activities.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old with a basic knowledge of soccer rules and the ability to pass a drug screen and Level 2 background check. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required within the first 90 days of employment.
Sets up and breaks down program areas, ensuring all spaces are safe, clean, and ready for soccer programming Leads, referees, and supports soccer practices, drills, and games for youth participants Supports officials, staff, and coaches during soccer sessions, practices, and games Responds to and properly documents incidents, member/guest concerns, injuries, etc. Supports the Association Director of Sports with soccer season kick-offs, end-of-season activities, and branch events such as Healthy Kids Day and Family Fun Days Distributes and collects program surveys and marketing materials to help increase soccer program registration Implements first aid and safety procedures according to YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg policies Promotes and supports the recruitment, training, and recognition of volunteers
