Substitute Teacher (Part-time)

For the 2026/27 school year and with a start date of August 1, 2026, we are looking for a committed Substitute Teacher (Part-time) We seek candidates who will use their pedagogical, communicative, and organizational skills to support the work of the school's leadership team. The substitute teacher is responsible for supervision of students and implementation of lesson plans provided by the absent teacher. They also assist with yard duty as required. Essential

Duties and Responsibilities

Implement and teach lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent teacher, or consult with the Assistant Principal of the School or other responsible staff if lesson plan is not provided Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times Be available for yard duty Experience and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Bachelor’s degree/certificate in Teaching, child development or related field is preferred. Experience working with children and students in a similar role Open-mindedness, organizational skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for improvisation Enjoys children and expresses a genuine interest in their needs. Fosters positive self-esteem through respectful and caring interactions with children. Ability to work with a team Ability to communicate comfortably (written and orally) with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures Must be punctual and reliable FLSA Classification: non-exempt Pay rate: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour, depending on experience Reports To: Assistant Principal Location: San Francisco, CA
