The specialist helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities set goals and access technology to improve their independence in work and daily living. This includes creating Virtual Community Resource Maps and acting as a liaison between families, technology vendors, and support services.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma/GED, be at least 21 years old, and possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License with an F endorsement. CPR/First Aid certification and proficiency in using various technologies are also required.
The MAPS Lead’s job function is to set individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities on a path to learn skills to help them work, live independently, learn about their neighborhoods, and find hobbies that interest them. This staff will help the individual access tools, technology, and support they need to meet the goals they set for themselves.

Education/Experience High School Diploma/GED, required.
Required Skills/Abilities Experienced user of technology. Model and promote a positive and professional environment. Ability to multi-task efficiently Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Communication and math skills sufficient to write reports and maintain records. Effective verbal and oral communication skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid Tennessee Driver’s License, with an F endorsement, and a clear driving history. Must maintain liability and auto insurance. Must maintain CPR and/or First Aid Certification and meet all DDA and agency training requirements
