Job description

Archbishop Spalding, located in Severn, Maryland, is seeking a full-time, qualified School Counselor.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to support students' academic, social, and emotional well-being. The ideal candidate will provide guidance, counseling, and resources to help students navigate challenges and achieve success in school and beyond.

This position’s hours are Monday through Friday, 7

30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • Essential Functions
  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students' emotional and social development.
  • Assist students in developing academic goals.
  • Identify and address behavioral issues, collaborating with teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and provide referrals to external resources when necessary.
  • Support students in conflict resolution, peer relationships, and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
  • Position Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in School Counseling.
  • Maryland state certification/licensure as a School Counselor.
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting (preferred).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and faculty.
