Summary Extended Care aides work with multi-age groups, assist students with homework, and lead small group activities. An Extended Care supervisor is expected to meet all staff goals, guidelines, and duties with enthusiasm, respect, integrity, understanding, and patience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Monitors and assists students in groups to support program activities. Prepares and distributes snacks to the children. Leads games, art projects and small quiet groups. Supervises and assists students during homework time. Complies with security procedures, including attendance, pick-up, and emergency procedures to ensure the children’s safety. Actively maintains a clean and organized site. Assists children with problem-solving skills and conflict resolution. Communicates effectively with students, parents, staff and coworkers. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Religious Qualifications Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred) Basic Catechetical Certification (preferred) Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy Professional Qualifications Certification in child first aid and CPR required by August (reimbursed by school) At least two years of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting Strong communication skills Friendly with excellent people skills Portrays a professional demeanor Self-directed Great attention to detail Performs standard word processing and google suite programs Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain outdoors with students, on their feet, standing close to supervise and mediate indoor and outdoor games and activities.
  • The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the outdoor space, indoor space, and office.
  • The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within the local community to purchase and restock student snacks.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • The employee may be called upon to render first aid to students as needed.
