About the Role

As an Early Preschool Mandarin Teacher, you will support a classroom of children ages 2–3 years old in a nurturing learning environment. In this role, you will lead portions of the day in Mandarin, introducing young learners to the language through songs, storytelling, and daily interactions. You will work collaboratively with your partner teacher to ensure the successful operation of the classroom while fostering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment. You will use both English and Mandarin to naturally integrate language exposure into everyday routines and activities. Teachers create their own lesson plans using a provided curriculum as a guide. In early preschool, the day includes a balance of structured activities and open/free play, with Mandarin naturally integrated into both. You Will Also… Create a nurturing, responsive environment that supports social-emotional development Lead age-appropriate activities in Mandarin Incorporate Mandarin into daily routines such as circle time, transitions, and activities Assist with toileting and diaper changing as needed Support children during meals, snacks, and rest periods Collaborate with other faculty members Communicate daily with parents or guardians Maintain a well-organized and engaging classroom environment What We Are Looking For Fluency in Mandarin and English Educational background with 12 semester or 18 quarter Early Childhood Education units, including child development, child/family/community, and curriculum, or a bachelor’s degree in child development Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children Strong communication and interpersonal skills Prior preschool teaching experience preferred To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
