Job description

Job summary

This is a tutoring position and involves one on one tutoring of a peer's written work.

Duties & Responsibilities

Tutor will meet with peer in an individual session.

Tutor will request peer's need and specific assignment for session.

Tutor will go through the written document presented by peer.

Tutor will offer suggestions for editing and revising document presented by peer.

Tutor will write a conference summary at the end of session and share with peer and instructor in COMPASS.

Required qualifications

Student worker must be enrolled for at least half time credit during the semester.

Student worker must have a GPA of 3.0 and above for the semester prior to the tutoring semester.

Student worker must have taken first year writing courses successfully or be in the Honors program successfully.

Must be enrolled in a matriculated program and registered at least half-time for Fall 2026

Desired qualifications

Student worker must be interested in writing and reading.

Special instructions

This is a Summer II position only. You will have to apply separately for the regular Fall and Spring semester.
