Job Summary

  • Assist the head swimming coach in all facets of the swimming program, including on-deck coaching, recruiting and assisting with travel arrangements.

  • Functions: 30% Recruit new members for the swim team including visiting recruits on and off campus. 25% Administer on-deck coaching including the management of workouts, the supervision of athletes and the evaluation of team members. 25% Coach team members at competitions and evaluate swimming techniques, evaluating talent and managing the arrangement of the team. 10% Supervise the strength and conditioning exercises of the team in addition to completing paperwork such as NCAA reports and letters to recruits. 5% Organize arrangements for home competitions and secure travel arrangements for the team. 5% Participate in the arrangement of banquets and fundraising activities. Position Information

Education: Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree. Licenses/Certifications/Requirements: CPR, First Aid required.

Experience

  • Requires a minimum of 1 year experience coaching individuals or groups at high schools, clubs or universities. Experience with computers and computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher) required. Knowledge of stroke mechanics, familiarity with the rules of the NCAA and MAC required. Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate required.
