Job description

  • We have an immediate need for a Child Youth Specialist in our Day Treatment Program.
  • This position provides "hands-on" client monitoring, supervision, therapeutic activities and behavioral interventions in the Day Treatment Program.
  • The Child/Youth Specialist will provide on-site client supervision on community outings and during van transportation; facilitates/co-facilitates groups and other therapeutic activities; and provides crisis support as needed.
  • This highly visible position will have an opportunity to provide a positive environment for kids who are in need of understanding, patience and a can-do attitude.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field involving child and youth population with mental health needs

Experience

  • One (1) to two (2) years internship experience (preferred)
  • Group facilitation experience (preferred)

Licensure/Certifications

  • QMHS- qualified mental health specialist (employer provided)
  • AMD- Aggressive Management De-escalation/Physical Hold Training within first 6 months of employment
  • For positions that may transport clients: Must have an acceptable driving record (4 points of less), reliable transportation, and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000
  • BLS/CPR/First Aid (as applicable, company provided)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Drug Screen, TB Test, Background check (required)
  • Setting: Day Treatment
  • Schedule: 8:00 am- 4:00 pm Monday-Friday
  • Travel: Transport and monitoring of clients in large 12 passenger vehicle.
