Job description
Children’s Services Assistant – Grace House
The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking an experienced Children’s Services Assistant at its Grace House program in Northampton. Grace House is a residential treatment program for mothers in early recovery. The program can house up to fourteen families in a collective living environment, where they share space and resources in an effort to build a recovery community and encourage peaceful living. As a therapeutic setting, we strive to provide each family with a safe, nurturing environment where mothers and their children can experience success.
Your Role as a Children's Services Assistant
The Children’s Services Assistant is responsible for supporting both mothers and their children within our therapeutic community. This role assists with running groups, childcare, and activities for children, as well as facilitating parenting groups using various modalities (including the Nurturing Program). You will work directly with parents and children to facilitate healthy growth, provide vital case management services (coordinating with schools, DCF, Horizons, WIC, and medical providers), and assist with planning community outings. Additionally, you will help manage behavior through programmatic structure and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND one of the following:
- An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or a related area of study) OR
- A minimum of two years of professional experience working in Education or Human Service-related fields.
- Knowledge in the recovery field preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work with computers.
- Must pass a background screening process, including a CORI and motor vehicle record check.
- Ability to transport residents in matters related to service delivery using an agency van or personal vehicle as needed.

Schedule of Work
This is a full-time role. Monday – Friday.
Starting Salary
$21.50/hr. Includes a phenomenal benefit package that includes Dental, Health, and Life insurance, paid time off, earned vacation time, and paid holidays, just to name a few.
