Job description

Passaic County Community College (PCCC) invites applications for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track faculty position for teaching and leadership in its Human Services program beginning in mid-August, 2026.

PCCC is seeking someone with strong social work and human services expertise who can bring real-world insight into the classroom and help prepare students for careers in these fields. PCCC serves a broad population within its service area, many of whom are first-generation college students.

Examples of Duties

  • Teach and manage introductory and sophomore-level undergraduate classes in Human Services AS program.
  • Employ a variety of instructional delivery methods, such as online, hybrid, Zoom, mini-semesters, and traditional-length in-person.
  • Actively engage students in High-Impact Practices, such as project-based learning and active learning.
  • Conduct outcomes assessments at the course, program, and institutional level
  • Commit to student learning, retention, and success and be available help student as may be needed
  • Contribute to departmental service, committees, and the college community
  • Assist others in the creation, implementation, and supervision of field work experiences for students
  • Integrate instructional technology to heighten student engagement
  • Perform related duties to advance academics, the college, and the college's mission.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master's in Social Work, or a Master's in a closely related field
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Interest in working in a diverse, student-centered, teaching focused environment
  • Postsecondary teaching experience required; 5-years community college experience preferred

Compensation

The salary for this position is $59,000.
