Peer Tutor, SC1TUTORSPEER (FA26) Student Worker Eligibility
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived. If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds. Primary
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide tutoring to COD students in a variety of subjects.
Provide course-based academic assistance to students in courses where tutor has subject-matter proficiency. Conduct class visits at start of semester to promote tutoring service options. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education THIS IS A STUDENT JOB. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds. Experience Proficient in spoken and written English required. Demonstrated proficiency (i.e., “A” or “B” grade in course) in courses/subject areas most frequently requested by faculty and students. Experience with online interactive technology (i.e. Zoom) preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Licenses and Certifications COD Training Compliance Training Working Conditions: Up to 20 hrs./week during Fall/Spring academic semesters and up to 25 hrs./week during Summer academic semester. Some evening or weekend hours may be required. Up-to-date skills in relevant technology. This position is subject to a background check and education verification at the expense of the College.
