Established in 1992, Preventative Aftercare is committed to keeping families together by providing quality home-based services to at-risk children, youth, adolescents and their families in their homes, schools and communities.

Position Overview

  • We are looking for community-based in-home Mental Health Workers and Mental Health Professionals (counselors) for the Community Based Program.
  • George Junior Republic Preventative Aftercare is committed to assisting youth and families in establishing safety, permanency, stability and well-being.
  • This distinct, community-based position will provide services and trauma informed care to a caseload of seven to ten families referred throughout the county for Children & Youth Services and/or Juvenile Probation.
  • The counselor will provide services within the community, schools and homes.
  • The counselor will use evidence based practices and various treatment modalities will be utilized to engage families.
  • Collaboration with schools, mental health agencies, substance abuse services, public assistance programs and other community support organizations is a priority for the counselor in this position.

Requirements

  • Mental Health Worker (counselor): Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. A minimum of two years' experience in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Mental Health Professional (counselor): Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Professional licensure preferred, but not required.
  • Must live in/near the county
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work a non-traditional schedule
