Oversee the daily workflow of the school health office and provide direct care to students under the supervision of the School Nurse. Maintain accurate student health records and serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and staff.
Requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS, First Aid, and Mandatory Reporter training. Prior experience working with children is required, and previous medical environment experience is preferred.

Performs services as assigned by the School Nurse-RN and in accordance with written policy. School health assistant responsibilities will vary according to the school health program. High school graduation or equivalent (GED). Prior experience working with and engaging children. Previous work experience in a medical environment preferred. BLS. Mandatory Reporter training. First Aid. Must complete annual Iowa Department of Education’s requirements on Medication Administration. Valid Iowa Driver’s License and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability. Basic computer skills required. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Ability to present a positive image.
