- Includes knowledge and technical expertise, ability to develop skills in players, teaching ability and methodology, game management, and effective program discipline and motivational techniques.,

- Welfare: Includes commitment to the welfare and safety of student-athletes, efforts to facilitate academic success, cooperation with academic units and counselors, and commitment to the social development of students.,
- Recruiting: Includes effective recruiting, professional relationships with coaches in the recruiting base, and success of previous recruits.,
- Compliance: Includes knowledge of and adherence to NCAA, conference and TTU rules, regulations and policies.,
- Performance: Includes level performance of team and positions coached, ability to attract support for the program, commitment to the University, and professional relationships with departmental and campus staff and community members.
