Overview Occupational Therapist – Acute Care, traveling assignment in a school setting (K-12) in Federal Way, Washington. Start date: 09/02/2026.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations for students and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and functional participation in the classroom.
  • Monitor progress, adjust goals as needed, and participate in discharge planning when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary team; participate in IEP/504 plan meetings as required.
  • Document sessions, progress notes, and outcomes in compliance with school policies and privacy regulations.
  • Maintain equipment, ensure safety during therapy activities, and support a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in Washington state
  • NBCOT certification (OTR) or eligibility for certification
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Experience in pediatric OT and/or acute care settings preferred
  • Ability to work in a school-based setting with a daytime schedule (approximately 7.5 hours per day)
  • Eligible for travel assignment and able to coordinate care within a school district
