General Description

The Assistant Group Supervisor is responsible for participating in a cohesive teaching team, assisting with the coordination of curriculum, and helping to assist in management of the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. This includes, but is not limited to, structuring and implementing lesson plans to ensure developmentally appropriate programming, developmentally appropriate transitional activities, and maintaining the appropriate child/staff ratio. Assistant Group Supervisors must understand the children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged.

Responsibilities

Be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children Respect confidentiality of family and staff information Supervision of children Help to implement daily lesson plans Keep Professional Development Record and personal files current as required by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and Keystone STARS Attend required Professional Development Trainings, appropriate safety trainings (Mandated Reporter, Fire Safety, Pediatric First Aid, and Water Safety) and attend monthly staff meetings Be a positive and professional role model for children, families, and co-workers Employ discretion through all means of communication and social networking Check employee CCCDC email daily Perform any reasonable task asked by the Site Director and CCCDC, agree to substitute at any of the Child Care Programs, have reliable transportation, lift 40 pounds, and engage in frequent standing.
