Position Overview

We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Seasonal Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to support our teaching team during the summer program. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with young children and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This seasonal position has the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily classroom activities and lesson plans
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Assist with transitions, meals, and rest periods
  • Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and families
  • Follow all OCFS and center health & safety regulations

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children (preschool or daycare setting preferred)
  • High school diploma required; coursework in early childhood education a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to engage actively with children throughout the day
  • Must be reliable and punctual

Schedule

  • Seasonal summer position (dates to be determined)
  • Monday–Friday, hours may vary based on program needs

Compensation
