Job description

Description St. Patrick Catholicc School is seeking a qualified candidate for our after school extended day program who can supervise and support students enrolled in our program. The extended day worker ensures a safe, engaging, and structured environment for children outside of regular school hours.

Requirements

Student Supervision & Safety Active Monitoring: Maintain continuous, visual supervision of children during indoor activities and outside playground. Attendance Tracking: Conduct accurate roll calls, document daily attendance, and strictly follow authorized sign-out procedures for student pickup. Behavior Management: Implement positive discipline strategies and enforce program rules to maintain a respectful, orderly environment. Incident Reporting: Administer basic first aid for minor injuries and complete detailed incident or accident reports for school administration and parents. Activity Coordination & Academic Support Homework Assistance: Guide students through homework assignments, clarify instructions. Recreational Planning: Lead structured group activities, including cooperative games, arts and crafts, and team-building exercises. Communication & Operations Parent Relations: Provide brief, professional daily updates to parents regarding their child’s behavior, achievements, or concerns during pickup. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with school staff to ensure continuity of care and share student insights. Site Maintenance: Set up activity stations, distribute healthy snacks, and clean up area at the end of the day Qualifications & Skills Education: High School Diploma. Some college coursework in child development, education, or recreation is highly preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 1–2 years working with school-aged children in camp, daycare, or school settings.

Certifications

Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain ). Must meet all diocesan employment requirements.

Skills

Excellent communication, patience, energy, and the ability to resolve peer conflicts calmly. Salary $16.00--$18.00/hour based on experience
