K-8 Student Success Coach

Reports To: Academic Director

Primary Function

The K-8 Student Success Coach focuses on the "how" of learning. Unlike a traditional tutor who focuses on content, this coach works directly with students to build the foundational brain-based skills such as organization, emotional regulation, and task initiation, which are needed to navigate the classroom. You will serve as a bridge between the student’s potential and their daily performance, helping them build a "toolbox" for lifelong independence.

M-F; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Requirements: and Certifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Licensure

Colorado teaching license, counseling license, or related credential preferred but not required.

Certifications

CPI, SEL, behavior intervention, executive functioning coaching, or related training/certifications preferred.

Student Experience

Experience facilitating small groups, workshops, or student interventions preferred. Experience supporting students with executive functioning challenges, attention difficulties, anxiety, or learning differences preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with school-aged children in an educational, counseling, intervention, coaching, or related setting.

EF Expertise

Deep understanding of the developmental stages of executive functions in children from ages 5 to 14.

The "Coach" Mindset

Ability to build high-trust relationships without being "the disciplinarian." You partner with teachers and families in the student’s growth.

Communication

Strong ability to translate complex neurodiverse concepts into simple, actionable steps for students and parents.

Core Responsibilities

Executive Functioning (EF) Instruction

Teach the identified age-appropriate strategies for planning, prioritizing, organizing materials, and time management (e.g., using planners, "future thinking," and breaking down long-term projects).

Emotional & Impulse Regulation

Support students in identifying triggers and using self-regulation tools to manage frustration, transitions, and classroom focus.

EF Group Coaching

Develop and monitor plans and progress for small groups of students, with specific EF goals.

Classroom Integration

Push into classrooms to help students apply organizational strategies in real-time and provide teachers with "EF-friendly" environmental tweaks (e.g., visual schedules or simplified desk systems).

Lessons

Teach student lessons on EF on an as needed basis.

Home-School Partnership

Conduct 4-6 workshops/informational sessions throughout the school year for PCK parents to ensure organizational systems at school are mirrored and supported at home.

Data & Progress Monitoring

Track student growth using behavioral rubrics and work-completion data to adjust interventions. Track parent engagement in workshops/sessions.

Group Instruction

Whole group instruction in grades K-2 regarding school wide character traits, that are linked to executive functioning. Schedule for weekly lessons.

Anticipated Salary and Benefits

The anticipated starting pay rate for this position is $58,000 - $70,000 depending on experience and skill level.
