Job description

  • The Adjunct Nursing Mentor/Tutor provides academic support to undergraduate students within the School of Nursing under the direction of the nursing faculty of the Worcester campus, and tutors students on an as-needed basis. Tutoring appointments will be coordinated between both the student and the tutor to best accommodate schedules. Estimated work hours will be six to ten hours per week.
  • Work collaboratively with course faculty to share information regarding individual student success
  • Serve as a role model and motivate students to perform well in Nursing courses and disciplines
  • Attend any required tutor trainings or meetings
  • Complete tutoring reports
  • Monitor students’ progress and communicate with course faculty regarding student progress or concerns
  • With support of the clinical agency may allow students to shadow them during their clinical work
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Required

  • Licensed as Registered Nurse with two to five years of nursing experience
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule
