Job description
- Soka University All-Sports Camp is seeking a Lifeguard for our pool time activity. This temporary part-time position is for Soka University All-Sports Camp. The Lifeguard would be monitoring kids aged 6-12. Candidates must be available these dates, for the following hours – 12:45pm-2:45pm. Session dates: 7 Weeks

- June 15th - June 19th
- June 22nd
- June 26th
- July 6th - July 10th
- July 13th - July 17th
- July 20th - July 24th JOB DESCRIPTION: Essential duties include but are not limited to: Current Lifeguard Certification Current First Aid and CPR Certification Maintain constant surveillance of campers during pool time Provide rescues as needed Work along other Camp Counselors to ensure everyone is having fun, being safe and adhering to the Code of Conduct, and camp pool rules Ability to conduct camper swim assessments Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary Inspecting pool area for unsafe conditions and reporting any hazards to supervisor Completing incident reports or pool usage reports or other records for reference Monitors pool activities to prevent accidents and/or stops any dangerous or unsafe swimming activity
Minimum Qualifications
Experience Prior experience working with children Prior experience in Lifeguarding is required Employment is contingent upon the completion of a successful background check. Candidates should demonstrate responsiveness toward and understanding of diverse student backgrounds. Having the ability and willingness to work collegially is essential, as is an understanding of an interdisciplinary liberal arts curriculum.
