- Louis.Job Summary The School Nurse promotes and supports the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of students and staff in a faith-based educational environment.
- The nurse provides healthcare services, manages student health records, responds to medical needs, and collaborates with families, faculty, and healthcare providers to support student success while upholding the mission and values of Catholic education.Job Responsibilities Provide basic healthcare, first aid, and emergency care to students and staff Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and medical concerns Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, school policies, and state regulations Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and immunization documentation Monitor and manage chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, and seizure disorders Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans as needed Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns and medical needs Collaborate with school staff, counselors, healthcare providers, and community agencies Ensure compliance with state health regulations and diocesan policies Maintain inventory and proper storage of medical supplies and equipment Educate students and staff on health, wellness, hygiene, and safety practices Assist in developing emergency response and communicable disease procedures Participate in school events, field trips, and health screenings as assigned Support and uphold the mission and philosophy of Catholic education Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license as required by state regulations CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required Previous pediatric, school nursing, or community health experience preferred Knowledge of student health regulations and confidentiality requirements Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies Successful completion of background check and Safe Environment training The Archdiocese of St.
