Job description

The Lead Teacher’s role is to instruct and implement Literacy/Humanities, Math/Science, and/or Enrichment curricula to meet academic standards and student needs, and to challenge and stimulate student learning, in a summer camp environment. This is a summer program where teachers are in the classroom for 6 weeks, 5 days per week, and 6.5 hours per day. The goal of this program is to increase students’ academic success and boost self-confidence, while also engaging families in the education process. The summer learning program is designed to address summer learning loss for children in low-income households living in urban communities and thereby enhance overall youth development, academic performance, and graduation rates.
