About TCHATT
Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) delivers rapid access to behavioral health assessment and short-term intervention for youth referred through participating schools. The program provides secure telemedicine visits, supports crisis identification, and helps families connect to community-based treatment when needed.
Job Summary
Through the TCHATT program, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide tele-psychiatric evaluation, consultation, brief treatment, and coordination with school partners to support timely access to mental health care. This is a grant-funded position.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
TCHATT Program Provide telehealth services including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care for children and adolescents. Complete tele-psychiatric assessments for students referred through TCHATT partner schools. Diagnose and manage pediatric psychiatric conditions including mood, anxiety, ADHD, and crisis‑related concerns. Provide brief treatment and medication management as clinically appropriate. Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and district staff to support referral pathways and student needs. Provide consultation and training to school personnel on identifying mental health concerns. Coordinate follow‑up recommendations and assist with transitions to ongoing community care.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing with P-MHNP certification OR Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
Experience
Required: Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as an advanced practice provider.
Preferred
One (1) year experience in a child and adolescent psychiatric setting.
Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training
Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license with PMHNP certification.
