Job Description

Teaches and demonstrates the management and resuscitation of patients on adult, child and infant manikins. Demonstrates the use of various Emergency Department equipment.

  • Job Responsibility
  • Teaches and demonstrates the management and resuscitation of patients on adult, child and infant manikins who have sustained respiratory failure, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, various dysrhythmias, acute stroke, hypothermia, trauma, acute MI, and other medical emergencies that fall into protocol and/or the management of the neonatal patient.
  • Evaluates and remediates the student as needed, including evaluation of written exam.
  • Demonstrates use of the following equipment: intubation equipment, oxygen therapy equipment, defibrillator, automatic external defibrillator, IV therapy equipment and drug therapy.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
  • Job Qualification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required, Associates/Technical degree, preferred.
  • Current Emergency Medical Technician Certification in New York State, or relevant comparable clinical certification.
  • Current American Heart Association provider card and instructor card for Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support, required.
